Denisse is a proud immigrant, woman of color, community organizer, and mother to a Palestinian-Mexican child. Raised in Baja, Mexico by a single mother, she was deeply influenced by her grandparents’ example of compassion and selflessness, who shared from what they had to help others. Her work as a community organizer began in Ensenada, Mexico, where she founded a grassroots initiative to support families displaced by seasonal wildfires. 

She has also served with addiction recovery programs, as a professional nanny, and as a bilingual customer service representative in healthcare and telecom. At the heart of all her work is a deep commitment to storytelling as a tool for healing, connection, and change. 

She is honored to align herself with the mission and vision of ALAS, working to uplift immigrant families, champion equity, and build a world where everyone has access to opportunity, safety, and belonging.

In her free time, she finds joy in the little things—thrifting hidden treasures, exploring new foods, traveling, reading, and sitting around a bonfire engaged in meaningful conversation with people she loves, reminding her to stay rooted in gratitude, presence, and purpose.
