Nicolas is a proud Austin, Texas native, born and raised in the community that has shaped who he is today. Coming from a Mexican American background, he values his culture, community, and the importance of creating opportunities for others. Nicolas is bilingual in English and Spanish, which has allowed him to connect with and serve people from a wide range of backgrounds.

His professional journey has taken him through technology, education, childcare, and community engagement. Nicolas previously worked as a Software Engineer at VMware/Broadcom, where he developed software solutions, collaborated with engineering teams, and helped improve development processes. Today, Nicolas serves as a Substitute Teacher with Austin ISD, where he supports students academically and helps create a positive and structured classroom environment.

Nicolas is currently studying at Austin Community College to obtain his Texas teacher certification and continue building his career in education. He is passionate about working with students and contributing to the growth and success of his community.

In 2025, Nicolas participated in the Community Health Champions program with Central Health, where he developed his community leadership and engagement skills. Through the program, Nicolas received a certificate recognizing him as a community health worker. This experience strengthened his commitment to understanding community needs, supporting others, and creating meaningful social impact.

With a background that combines technology, education, and community service, Nicolas hopes to continue using his skills and experiences to make a positive difference in the Austin community and beyond.
