Yaqueline carries her immigrant journey—from Cuba, to Ecuador, to Austin, Texas—as both her story and her compass. That journey, and her role as mother of two daughters, fuels a deep, personal commitment to building communities where Latine families feel seen, supported, and equipped to pursue their dreams.

She holds a degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Communication Sciences, and brings more than 20 years of experience working alongside families, youth, and diverse communities. Her career has centered on family engagement, education, and connecting families to the resources and opportunities that change trajectories—work she began in the school district before joining other community non-profits, and today as Parent Engagement Specialist, Yaqueline walks alongside Latina mothers and daughters, strengthening family engagement, supporting educational success, and helping young women chart their path toward post-secondary goals. She designs parent programming and community events, builds partnerships across Central Texas organizations, and opens doors for families to access the information and support they need to thrive.

She believes culturally responsive, community-centered support has the power to transform not just individual lives, but the well-being of entire communities—and she is especially driven to amplify the voices of Latino parents, whose perspectives too often go unheard.

As a member of the ALAS Texas Advisory Board, Yaqueline brings her lived experience, her professional expertise, and her unwavering commitment to Latino families in Central Texas. She is honored to help advance ALAS’s vision: culturally grounded spaces where families find connection, healing, and the resources they need to thrive.
